W.C Story

Riverside Murder Mystery
By: Elle Riegert

On a dreary gray Saturday three girls named Penny, Amanda, and Cassi were friends hanging out at the downtown bakery. They were all gossiping about numerous things when Cassi picked up the paper. On the front cover was a picture of Riverside school the school that they all attended. “I wonder what is going on with our school?” questioned Penny. Maybe something bad happened.
Amanda grabbed the paper out of penny’s hands. “I wonder if we will have school tomorrow?” questioned Amanda. Then she started reading the article. It read: Mysterious cracks on Riverside school windows in Arizona. “That’s interesting.” Said Amanda. They all ate their last bites of their donuts and started heading home. When all three girls got home they immediately started doing research. They were on every single news website to find as much as they could about this crime. Then around 9:00 they finally decided to go to bed so that they could wake up in the morning to catch the bus for school.
The next day all the girls meet at the bus stop on the corner of Amanda’s house. They all were holding folders in their hands. “What is in your folder Cassi?” questioned Amanda. “Oh just some research on the school. “Really “ stumbled Amanda. I have some too and so does penny. “Good we will need a lot to figure this one out” scampered Cassi.
When the three girls arrived at school they saw that there was a huge line leading out of the school. “I knew it” scampered penny. “ A scan how exciting.” The girls finally got through the line after waiting several minutes.
When school was let in later after everyone had gotten through the scanner people were all talking in groups about the crime. Some people were scared and others were very surprised. It was very rare for something like this to happen at Riverside. I overheard a group of some girls talking about the crime. They seemed to know who committed it. They said that it was a man with a black coat and a blue hat looking about the age of forty. We had to look for this man I thought to myself. I started heading toward my first class. I will tell the others at lunch.
At lunch it was very busy and loud. People were talking about the crime everywhere. I went to the table the one we usually all sit at for lunch. Amanda and Cassi were sitting there. “Guys guess what I have some great news.” What exclaimed cassi. “Ok I know who the criminal is.”Really. Yeah. The girls sat and listened to penny to penny tell them the story. They were going to star their mission to find the criminal in the morning.
In the morning the girls decided to not attend school. They had a really important mission to figure out. Before they started their mission they had to go to the coffee shop that they always went to on Saturdays to get their amazing Carmel steamers from bob the coffee man. Bob always loved it when the girls can in the morning. Sometimes they got extra whipped cream on their Carmel steamers.
When they were walking to the coffee shop they saw a lot of men in black coats and green hats. Now they just had to find the man with the black coat and blue hat. After enjoying their warm Carmel steamers they had been looking for hours for the criminal and still could not spot him. They all finally decided to head home to finish their homework that they still hadn’t done. They were all very disappointed that they did not find the man. This was not going to be as easy as they though.
The next day they went to school. They knew that something was going on. As they walked toward the front entrance door to the school they saw someone . He was creeping around the corner. They knew that it must have been the man. He was wearing a black coat, but no blue hat on. They had to find out if this was him.
“Cassie you and Amanda go to first hour I have to go find out who this guy is. “Ok be careful.” Before Cassie could say that Penny was gone. Penny followed the man behind the school and onto the roof of the school. She was wondering where penny had been going.
When they were both on the roof penny saw him pick up a rock. He was aiming for the glass window. “STOP!!!” screamed Penny. The man jerked at penny. She started running toward him with an angry look. What are you doing on our school property, and why are you throwing rocks at the windows? The man was about to run when a Police man opened the roof door and ran in pointing a gun at the criminal. “Put your hand up” yelled the Police man. The criminal immediately dropped the rocks and shot his hand in the air. “Where is the girl” asked the Police man? The girl thought penny. “The one you know you murdered” screamed the Police man. “She is buried next to the library” replied the criminal. “It looks like we will be taking you downtown sir.”
Once they took the man back to the police car the police man cam was then rewarded with $10,000 for finding him. I was so proud of myself and when I told the others are school they were proud of me to. My family could not believe that I did such a good thing that day. That day was the best day of my life and I will never ever forget it.
